description: The paramount goal of this project was to investigate the role of silence within the work of the three artists involved. For Of Silence, Pas Musique, Shaun Sandor, and Ben Link Collins all began with their own concepts involving silence. Each artist composed an audio piece based on their notion and then passed the completed works on to the next artist in a predetermined rotation -- Pas to Ben, Ben to Shaun, and Shaun to Pas. The following composer then worked on the previous artist's composition with their own concept of silence in mind. This revolution took place twice, resulting in nine full compositions.
A short written analysis of the role of silence throughout modern experimental music was composed at the outset of the project to serve as a primer for each artist. That analysis is included within the booklet of the artefact along with a longer discription of the approach and excecution of each artist.
Each booklet is handmade. Of Silence is a limited edition release of 500. The project is a collaborative release between Silent Media, Alrealon Musique, and Blondena Music.
