A 'stream of consciousness' review of Daniel Barbiero and Cristiano Bocci's 'Nostros' audio release.
Pan leaves the forest. He races with the shadows which try to keep him there. They grab and trip him while he skillfully releases himself from their grip. He runs toward the sun which peeks in from the great woods until he comes to a lake.
The lake stares back at Pan and whispers “Never…you may never cross here.” He lifts himself up to the sky and sees a cloud. One may enter only be the reflection of water so he makes it rain. Drop by drop his body dissolves into the other side.
The “other side” is a silent but beautiful world. Sound has been taken prisoner through the mirrors backend to replace Pan in his home world. He walks with silent footsteps, silent yawns, and silent breath.
He is welcomed by birds with no tongues or beaks. They only have round multicoloured heads. They circle his hooves and bob their heads against his legs in affection.
Lightening steaks across the sky to reveal transparent monoliths of Orichalcum. Between the leaves lie the secrets of the forest that do not speak. If they could speak they would tell you that Atlantis sank in the ocean because of lack of sonorous vibration. Matter falls apart with out the force of sound.
A large packs of dog, each with five legs run by offering transportation to our hooved antihero. He scales on the largest one and they all seem to float while blasting through the blue landscape.
Great structures follow behind following the packs of animals. Structures enlaced with multicolored gems. The structures are alive but seek tenants. The structures live off energy and Pan radiates more than most living things. Reds, blues, greens, and yellows shoot toward our friend as he floats through the fields. Each beam stings with accuracy. Each beam tries to penetrate into Pan’s cerebellum to freeze him in his tracks.
“Everytime I want to live and be free I am taking myself back into myself. Myself which is my prison in eternity. For I don’t need to reincarnate. I am aware of eternity. It is me. It is my “self”. Those that are jealous haunt me. Those that are incompetent are scared of me. But we all shall understand the existence of eternity one day.”, Pan exclaims with his lips solely moving and not uttering a sound.
Black rainbows exist only to protect Pan. The scientists call them black holes. They follow him through each dimension and make sure the eternal figure isn’t extinguished. Once the light is extinguished the creator forgets only to reinvent itself. So pray for the black rainbows that they cradle our hooved fellow. The gemmed structures are only material and shall they perish with a tabula rosa from exquisite darkness.
Passing through time is easy. You just don’t travel physically. You ride the waves of dreams and your consciousness evolves into about space and time. Shall we call that an alternate “dimension.” The gods would be scared. Or our we the gods? There is a bit of Pan in everyone of us. We just choose not to caress him. We choose to be blind and worship the gemmed structures.
The dogs complete their journey and set Pan down safely while the black rainbows fill their stomachs with beautifully colored preternatural substances. He walks past the silent gates and meets demon god Mara. Without a sound, without a word, without notice, Pan grabs Mara by the neck and chokes him extinguishing his light. For now everyone can be freed of distraction. The hero? The troublemaker, or is Pan just the source of change? The reason and definition “just is.”
Pan takes his throne and sits hovering just over it. He crosses his legs and breathes slowly. He exhales intensely trying to start a vibration so his new world doesn’t sink into oblivion. Hours go by, month cease to develop, years slip into time. The condensation builds up each and every second. But terraforming never is easy, especially in the dream consciousness.
A sound, like a pin drop, introduces itself and becomes a vibrant humming. A humming which stimulates the current universe. Now everyone can travel beyond this dimension. The door has been opened by vibration. Sonorous vibration is the key to life.
